Kimberly Bachman
K12 Band/Music, Digital Imaging, and HS Drama
From Fruitdale, SD Kimberly Bachman has a bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Humanities. She has been a substitute teacher at Newell School for the past two years and is an award-winning multi-instrumental singer-songwriter with a demanding music schedule. She has played the stages with name you know and love. Her music has been twice inducted into the South Dakota County Music Hall of Fame, Top 20 Songwriter Festival, and recently chosen as a South Dakota favorite in the National Public Radio Tiny Desk songwriting contest two years in a row. She is married to Mark and has two granddaughters attending the Newell School District.
Hannah Hendricks
Hannah Hendrick will be taking on the role of the Physical Education and Health teacher as well as Athletic Director. She will also be coaching Junior High Volleyball and Junior High Track. Hannah graduated from Brandon Valley High School and obtained her undergraduate degree in Physical Education, Health, and Coaching from Black Hills State University and a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Coaching from Indiana State University.
Her achievements include All-Academic-Pole Vault Provisional National Qualifier, BHSU Dean’s List, BHSU Female Lifter of the Year, and RMAC Honor Roll. To equip her health teaching skills, she has taken classes at BHSU such as Health Concepts, ATOD Prevention Education, First Aid & CPR, Stress Management, Current Issues in Health, K-12 Methods of Health Instruction, and Nutrition.
Macy Shupick
Macy Shupick is the new Elementary Special Education teacher. Macy graduated from Dupree High School and from BHSU with a degree in K-12 Special Education. She has educational experience working at Robinsdale Elementary School as the First and Second Grade Special Education teacher as well as Rapid City Central as the 9th SPED teacher. She was on the BHSU Dean’s List, trained in Conscious Discipline, Zones of Regulation, and First Aid & CPR.
Chris Grube
Chris Grube has a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from Cal State University and an Associate’s Degree in Science in Aeronautics. His participation in the California teacher credential training through Chapman University provided the opportunity to enter the classroom.
During his 30 years as a public teacher in the Apple Valley School District, he has taught Science, Computer Education, Aviation Technology/Robotics, and Special Education. Grube also brings experience to the classroom as a pilot, firefighter, and helicopter mechanic. The classes that will be offered are Biology, Aerospace/Aviation, earth and Space, 7th Grade Science, Anatomy, and Aerospace Engineering.
Paul Clark
Paul Clark will be filling the role of PK-8 Principal. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree n Biology with an emphasis in Chemistry from Dickinson State University and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from High Point University.
He has 11 years of experience in the classroom and has served as the dean of Students at Rapid City Schools. His training includes Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and STEM. In his administrative role, Clark has supported staff professional development by organizing classroom management, differentiated instruction, and school program training sessions.
Jesse Engel
Jesse Engel graduated from Sinte Gleska University with a Bachelor’s Degree n Elementary Education. He spent six years with the Todd County School District in Kindergarten, served as the Director of the Childcare Center in Rapid City, and worked as a teaching assistant at TREC Badlands Head Start in Belle Fourche.
Engel will be the Third-Grade teacher. He comes with extensive training in building student and parent rapport, faculty training and development, and academic records management.
Cheyenne Parke
Cheyenne Parke will soon become Mrs. Geppert. She will become Newell’s Ag and Science Teacher. Parke graduated from Bradford High School in Bradford, Ohio. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Outdoor Education and an Associate’s Degree in Natural and Historical Interpretation. Her additional certifications include ATV Rider Course, Trapper’s Training, Hunter Education, Project WILD, and NASP Range Instruction.
Parke has worked with the SDSU Extension as the Program Manager for the Outdoor Campus in Rapid City for the past two years. Her FFA experience includes serving as Chapter President and Jr. Vice President.
