NEWELL—Three golfers represented Newell at the State Golf Meet in Brookings on Monday, June 3 and Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Freshman Bodie VanDerBoom, sophomore Braylee Freytag, and senior Megan Jackson competed in the Class B tournament.
In Monday’s first round, Megan Jackson scored a 92 and tied for 19th place. Braylee Freytag scored 104 and ended T-65. Bodie VanDerBoom golfed a 96 and ended up T-110.
For overall placings, Jackson ended T-42, with a score of 54 to par and 194 total. Freytag ended 79th place with a 77 score to par and 217 total; VanDerBoom ended T-114 with 49 to par and 193 total.
