Ferne Elaine Wallace, age 92, of Belle Fourche, passed away March 7, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 28 at 10:30 at the Black Hills National Cemetery.
She was born June 18, 1931 in Brookings, South Dakota to Art and Etola Justice, one of nine children. After excelling in high school and college, Ferne married David “Lloyd” Wallace and settled in Belle Fourche, raising three children and teaching high school Home Economics. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, piano playing and grandchildren spoiling.
Survivors include husband Lloyd Wallace, children daughter Susan Kennon(James), son Lee(Denise), sister Janice Justice. She also has eight grandchildren Nick(Leah) Kennon, Kim(Reece) Caddell, Nyssa(Colby) Hodo, Garion(Trynity) Wallace, Ky(Emily) Moody, Lexus Moody, Spencer(Baylee) Moody, and Aubri Moody.
Great grandchildren: William and Isla Kennon, Case and Sadie Caddell, Braiden, Colden and Chloe Hodo, Natalie Cole, Paisley and Olivia Moody, and Mylah Moody
