After a lovely, mild day on Saturday the wind was strong as the sun shined on Sunday. It looks to be warming up just a bit, but rain and wind are in the forecast for this week.
The Meade County Republican Women held a Legislative Candidate Forum in Piedmont last week. It was well attended and informative.
There were 4 candidates present. Terry Jorgenson and Gary Cammack were in attendance running for the SD House while Kirk Chaffee and John Carley are SD Senate candidates. Those running for County Treasurer and Auditor were able to introduce themselves. Other Meade County office holders were pointed out as being in attendance.
There will be an upcoming Legislative Candidate Forum on May 16 at the Legion in Faith, SD. It will include both District 29 and one other district. More details should be posted next week. The Meade County Republican Women will be co-hosting this event.
Mothers Day is approaching this Sunday, May 12. For moms who do not already have plans, you are invited to have a noon dinner at the Community Baptist Church. Jack Seller is cooking. We are thankful for Jack sharing his time and heart for people in our community.
