Elsie Gorder passed away on January 3, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.
Elsie was born May 21, 1937 in Sturgis, SD to William and Helen (Lehto) Fager. She went to elementary school in Whitewood SD and high school in Spearfish, SD.
Elsie married Robert Gorder in 1953 and they raised two daughters, Linda and Patti. She lived most of her life in Belle Fourche, SD. Elsie retired from Pioneer Bank & Trust in 2002. In her retirement she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents William and Helen Fager, her grandson Ryan Pierce, great granddaughter Jarynn Buehner and sister Marjorie Pelaez. She is survived by her daughters Linda (John) Vilcek and Patti (Jess) Pierce. Four grandsons, Lance (Jamie) Buehner, Lucas (Chelsa) Buehner, Adam Pierce and Robert (Amy) Pierce. Great grandchildren Natalie Buehner, Briana Buehner, Jordynn Buehner, Nella Buehner, Melissa Pierce, Lincoln Pierce and Stella Pierce. Three step great grandsons Travis Tomei, Trenton Dues and Trevin Dues. One brother Darrell Fager.
Graveside services were held Friday, January 5, 2024 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Family and friends met at Kline Funeral Chapel to go in procession to the Cemetery.
