3-Peat! SDDOT Unit 471 – made up of crews in Belle Fourche, Newell, and Buffalo – has won the award for Safest Maintenance Unit Statewide. This is the third year in a row that they have won the award. They also won Safest Unit Rapid City Region, and combined with Unit 472 – Bison, Lemmon, Faith – to win Safest Area Maintenance Statewide. Unit 471 is under the supervision of HMS Rick Walton, and Unit 472 is under the supervision of HMS Joel Larson.
