Amiyah Gomez had been working all summer to raise money to get to New York City. The Belle Fourche Community along with Spirit of Cheer and Dance has rallied behind Amiyah to perform in the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade with Spirit of America. Amiyah was 1 of 5 cheerleaders from South Dakota in the parade. 4 cheerleaders from Lakota tech also went. Amiyah and the other ladies got to know each other while competing during cheer season this fall. Amiyah says her favorite thing to do in NYC was visit Time Square and see a Broadway show. Ms. Gomez would like to go back some day.
