Wendy Dawn Maeder, 53, of Glendale, AZ passed away from ovarian cancer on June 19, 2023, at Hospice of the Valley in Peoria, AZ.

Wendy was born January 4, 1970, in Belle Fourche, SD to Donald Bruce Maeder and Shirley Rae Duston. She graduated from Belle Fourche High School as class salutatorian and as a Regents Scholar in 1988. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Sioux Falls College in 1992 and was on the aca- demic dean’s list. In 1995, she received her Master of Science degree from Boise State. In 1999, she attended Regis University, Denver and received a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She was on the academic dean’s list and was also elected to Sigma Theta Tau, a national nursing honor society. Wendy spent over 20 years working in nursing.

Wendy was a very unique person who loved help- ing people and passionately loved cats, the Denver Broncos, Celtic Thunder, and Ryan Kelly. Her ten years as a traveling nurse took her across the United States from Alaska to Texas and from Hawaii to New Hampshire. Wendy was also a recipient of the Daisy Award of Nursing.

She is survived by her mother Shirley; brother Bruce, his husband Luke Forster, their two daughters, Clara and Jamie Mooney, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins, including her aunt and close friend, DD Maeder. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Maeder and her grandparents, Lowell and Lelia Maeder, and Oscar and Blanche Duston and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Wake was held Friday, September 8 at Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, September 9 at the Bowman Hall in Herrmann Park in Belle Fourche. Inurnment followed at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche. An online guest book and video tribute is available at klinefuneralchapel.com.
